ABSTRACT

This article describes the elaboration of the Orbi ornamental typography. Drawn with the aid of an algorithm, its characters, when combined and overlaped, create mandalas and/or patterns that can be applied in the customization of design objects. Adopting metadesign as a strategy and generative design as a tool for the creation of the elements of the typographic set, this work makes it possible to approach these concepts, as well as to use algorithms, parameters and randomness in a single design project.
