Making Static Figures Posable: An Interactive Figure Transformation System For Naive Users

ABSTRACT

We propose a system which can fabricate articulated figures based on static ones. We first scan the static figure to obtain a digital 3D model. The user can then insert joints to this 3D model interactively with hand gestures. Our system will then adjust the position of the joints to match the surrounding geometry and carve the collided area during the rotation inspection process. With our system, a naive user can easily convert and print out a posable, articulated figure.
