B2E portals: analysis of the success factors in the Portuguese banking sector

Published:11 June 2012Publication History

ABSTRACT

Employee Portals have reached a development level that demands the knowledge of which investments bring greater advantages both to the end user and for the organization. The purpose of the research presented in this paper is to gain a better understanding of employee portal success. In this study we propose to apply the multi-company study taken by the researchers Nils Urbach and colleagues in the subject in matter, based in the DeLone & McLean information system success model [3], in a single company of the Portuguese banking sector. In a survey with more than 2000 responses we applied the developed model and concluded about its applicability despite the restrictions implied. The outcome empirically validates the model and demonstrates it is applicable to the proposed scenario, also indicating the most important factors in which to invest in the development of employee portals. The findings' implications are discussed and a basis for further research in this field is presented.
