As key technology of the system realization which generates the record of the Shogi on real time from the playing image, the new method of recognizing a piece of Shogi on a board correctly is proposed. The new method makes the distribution pattern of the appearance frequency of a black pixel over the distance from the center of gravity of the character on a piece of Shogi as a feature parameter, and is a system stronger against change and inclination of a piece of Shogi on a board than the former. By the experiment system, the validity of the new method was checked, and it could operate on real-time of 15 frames per second.
