Prevention and treatment of post-gastrectomy disorders

Abstract

Although about 80% of patients remain almost or completely symptom-free after partial gastrectomy, all are liable to develop nutritional deficiencies that can be largely prevented. Incapacitating symptoms due to the operation occur in less than 5% of patients.
