Abstract
A new mixed ligand complex of Co(II), [Co(pydc)(2-apym)(H2O)2]·H2O (1) (pydcH2=pyridine-2,6-dicarboxylic acid, 2-apym=2-aminopyrimidine) has been synthesized and characterized by CHN micro analysis, IR and UV spectroscopies, TGA and single crystal X-ray diffraction. The crystallographic data show that the compound 1 crystallizes in monoclinic system with P21/c space group. In the title compound, Co(II) is six-coordinated with a distorted octahedral geometry made up by tridenate (pydc)2−, monodentate 2-apym coordinated via an N atom of the pyrimidine ring and two coordinated water molecules. The discrete complex molecules are aggregated by O2-H2A⋯O108 and N206-H20B⋯O107 hydrogen bonds and create a double chain 1-D coordination network
