Abstract

Twenty-three species and forms of centric diatoms from the genera Aulacoseira, Cyclostephanos, Cyclotella, Discostella, Minidiscus, Shionodiscus, Skeletonema, Stephanodiscus, and Thalassiosira, including a number of those new for the flora of the Ob River (Aulacoseira pusilla, Minidiscus proschkinae, and Stephanodiscus hashiensis), have been revealed by scanning electron microscopy. The species list of this group of algae is revised taking into account modern ideas about the systematic position of individual species, varieties, and forms. Ten taxa are brought into synonymy and 12 taxa are transferred to other genera. The updated species list includes 45 species, varieties, and forms belonging to 19 genera.
