Abstract

The results of studying the transformations of the components of ozonized and initial black fuel oil (masout) in the decane and tetralin media are presented. The preliminary ozonization leads to an increase in the distillable fraction yield by 22–29% as compared to that for the cracking of the initial masout in the decane medium. It is demonstrated that the product composition is affected by the type of the solvent. For the resins obtained by cracking of ozonized masout, the total average number of cycles in their molecules (3.2) is lower than that for the resins obtained from the initial masout (4.6); in addition, the fraction of saturated cycles in the structural unit of their molecules is also lower, 1.12 versus 2.39. The fraction of relatively volatile n-alkanes, C12–C17, in oils produced by cracking of ozonized masout is higher.
