Abstract

An explanation of the emergence of turbulence in nuclear collisions is proposed on the basis of the assumption that, in an excited nucleus, there arise nonequilibrium steady-state distributions n(ɛ) of occupation numbers.

Boris Alekseevich Rumyantsev (1944–1977) was one of the most brilliant and talented theoretical nuclear physicists.
