Enhanced: Src Launches Vaccinia

Bacteria and viruses are masters at commandeering the host cell machinery to promote their own life cycles. In his Perspective, Hall discusses the devious strategy of vaccinia virus, which uses the same viral protein, A36R, both for viral particle transport along cellular microtubules to the cell periphery and for the expulsion of mature viral particles out of the cell via an actin filament launch pad (Newsome et al.).
