Abstract:

Humanitarian or natural catastrophes as well as civil or political crises in an interconnected world that is becoming smaller every day require specialized civil or military missions. The environment of these operations can be characterized by chaotic circumstances, the absence of order, damaged or destroyed infrastructure and the requirement of rapid reaction respectively intervention. This work proposes a ubiquitous mobile learning framework for the training and preparation of these missions, based on the principles of network centric operations. It features the ability to adapt to rapid changes in scenario and environment, as well uses location immersion techniques to reflect simulated real-world influence. The framework is designed to be platform independent and utilizes a hybrid networking middleware, while operating on market-available hard- and software
