Abstract:

The smart usage of the scattered processing power of consumer-electronics-device networks permits analytical systems to be realized capable of generating semantically meaningful meta information. A combination of 'service units' such as face detection, face tracking, face recognition and face online learning provides the basic visual descriptors for advanced facial- and human-related feature analysis. Reuse of the available computational resources of individual Philips-Nexperia-chipset-based consumer electronics devices - sufficient to enable individual service units to perform - in combination with descriptor databases facilitate the establishment of a powerful analytical system built on consumer electronics device networks.
