Abstract:

As the miniaturization of the silicon circuitry is going towards the physical limit of the molecular structure, chemical and electronics collaborative research are mainly focused on the development of synthetic molecules with capabilities of assuming two or more different stable states. The growing of these molecules in a defined flat or three-dimensional structure allows further interesting computing applications. The assumed state from each cell will be a consequence of the states of the neighboring cells according to a defined truth table. These on-going promising research projects ignite the possibility of building a nanocomputer (nanocalculator). The purpose of this paper is to present a study of the logic design of a basic computer in nanospace using M- and N-hypercube cells as building blocks
