Dear All
With this issue, Tourism Review completes its 70th volume of existence. As the oldest tourism journal on this globe comes into age, we decided to invite a number of authors to critically reflect on tourism research achievements and maybe show some research avenues for the future. The result of this invitation is a line-up of papers from different walks of research. These papers are published in an alphabetical order by first author names.
David Airey digs deep into tourism policy issues, providing us with a comprehensive understanding of recent and past developments.
Sara Dolnicar takes a (very) critical look at quant research in tourism, under special considerations of measurement scales and types of analyses.
Peter Keller discusses the challenges for tourism evolving from increasingly omnipresent states.
Tanja Mihalic and Julio Aramberri identify myths of tourism data available and their mythical interpretation.
Egon Smeral critically reflects the means and ways how we measure economic impact of tourism, exemplified by two regions in Austria.
Michael Volgger and Harald Pechlaner provide us with an overview over their key research domain, which is governance and leadership in tourism networks.
Enjoy the read!
Kind regards
