Cyclohexane-Linked Indenyl Rings in 5,8-Bis(trimethylsilyl)-6,7,12b,12c-tetrahydroindeno[2,1-c]fluorene

A novel ring structure of formula C₂₆H₃₂Si₂ has been formed by oxidation of 1,2-bis(1-trimethylsilyl-2-indenyl)ethane during attempted TiCl₃(thf)₃ complexation. Two indenyl groups are linked by a cyclohexane ring having a chair conformation and the resulting dihedral angle between the planes of the indenyl groups is 10.6 (1)°.
