Momentum-Transfer Dependence in Reactions of the Type A+pΔ+++A+π

Abstract

We have examined the momentum-transfer distributions in the reactions (1) π++pΔ++(1236)+π++π at a π+ beam momentum of 7 GeVc, and (2) K++pΔ++(1236)+K++π at an incident K+ momentum of 12.7 GeVc. In both instances the t dependence (proton to Δ) can be represented remarkably well by the simple form (t+μ2)2, where μ2mπ2.
