We argue that there is no essential violation of universality in the continuum limit of mixed $\mathrm{R}{\mathrm{P}}^{n-1\mathrm{}}$ and $\mathrm{O}\mathrm{}\left(n\right)\mathrm{}$ lattice $\sigma$ models in two dimensions, contrary to opposite claims in the literature.
