Abstract
We address several important issues in nonleptonic decays of charmed baryons. These include the treatment of the baryon matrix element of the effective weak Hamiltonian and the factorization in the quark-decay part of the amplitude. We also introduce an on-shell correction to the soft-pion limit of the current-algebra result for waves. This correction leads to significant changes in the decay rate and, in particular, the asymmetry parameter. A calculation of Cabibbo-favored decays of , , and (where indicates asymmetry in the noncharmed quarks) has been carried out. "Good candidates" for experimental tests have been suggested.
