Average jet-charge density and direct measurement of quark charges

Abstract

A new method for the direct measurement of the quark charge is proposed. Instead of a neutrino beam, an electron, photon, or hadron beam can be used so the statistics is much larger in our method. Examples of γN and eN collisions are presented for measuring the u- and d-quark charge.
