A superdeformed band has been observed in the ${}_{}{}^{147}{}_{}{}^{}\mathrm{Tb}$ nucleus which was produced with the reaction ${}_{}{}^{100}{}_{}{}^{}\mathrm{Mo}$${(}^{51}$V,4n${)}^{147}$Tb at a bombarding energy of 230 MeV. The band configuration is assigned as π$6^3$ν$7^1$ with a total parity and signature of (π,α)=(-,+1/2). © 1996 The American Physical Society.
