Abstract
Two standard molecular dynamics approaches, differing in their treatment of Pauli blocking effects, are analyzed in terms of their predictions of intermediate mass fragment production and radial flow. Although the time evolution of the system is different when described in the two treatments, they converge to similar asymptotic results. However, both approaches fail to reproduce, in some cases, the experimental radial flow and intermediate mass fragment multiplicities.
