Abstract

The π/π+ yield ratio in 1.05 GeV/nucleon 40Ca+40Ca interactions was measured using a magnetic spectrometer system. The ratio was found to be unity over the entire range of measurements covering θlab=10°, 20°, 25°, 30°, 65°, and 90° and laboratory momenta 100≤plab350 MeV/c. The ratios exhibit no visible effect of Coulomb forces from the nuclear charge distributions.
