Force-balance equation for a pinned lattice of Abrikosov vortices

Abstract

We present a simple derivation of the force-balance equation for a pinned lattice of Abrikosov vortices in the presence of a driving current. The formalism employed is based on a general macroscopic theory developed by Larkin to describe the effect of defects in the Shubnikov phase of a type-II superconductor.
