Abstract

H1 NMR was employed to study the irreversible phase transition in C10H21NH3Cl accompanied by an interdigitated-noninterdigitated structural change. The phase transitions were manifest in the second moment as well as in the spin-lattice relaxation rate measurements with a hysteresis upon heating and cooling. In this work, the dimensionality and its crossover were explicitly confirmed in similar systems.
