Abstract
Exact N-body ground states are considered for the planar system of anyonlike objects governed by the Pauli Hamiltonian in the presence of an arbitrary, position-dependent, external magnetic field. Degeneracies and the maximum number of allowed particles in a given ground state are rigorously determined in terms of the net external magnetic flux and the fluxes carried by the particles. Implications for the physics of quantum Hall effects are also discussed.
