Gutzwiller projection with embedded clusters

Abstract

We present a method for computing expectation values of local operators in fully Gutzwiller-projected states that allows accurate extrapolation to the thermodynamic limit for states with sufficiently short-range correlations. We then calculate static spin-spin correlations in a variety of one- and two-dimensional states as well as the effective kinetic energy of holons in a chiral spin liquid.
