Abstract

We have measured the critical magnetic fields Hc2 (parallel to ab plane) and Hc2 (perpendicular to ab plane) of single crystals of YBa2Cu3O7 as a function of temperature in fields up to 19 T. The slope - dHc2dT is greater by about a factor of 4 when the field is applied parallel to the ab plane than when it is applied parallel to the c axis.
