Kosterlitz- Thouless transition for a two-dimensional superconductor: Magnetic-field dependence from a Coulomb-gas analogy

Abstract

A Coulomb-gas analogy of a two-dimensional superconductor is explored in order to estimate the effect of vortex fluctuations. Approximate expressions are derived for the way in which the resistance and the density of superconducting electrons depend on temperature and magnetic field.
