Squeezing via superpositions of even and odd Sp(2,R) coherent states

Abstract

It is shown that a linear combination of ‘‘even’’ and ‘‘odd’’ Sp(2,R) coherent states can be more highly squeezed than a coherent state belonging to a single Sp(2,R) representation. Physical mechanisms for generating such superpositions are introduced and studied.
