Abstract

We report a comprehensive experimental study of the Sr i autoionizing 5p1/2ns1/2 and 5p3/2ns1/2 J=1 states with n ranging from 10 to 36. We have used an isolated-core-excitation method to determine the energies, autoionization rates, and interseries interaction between the two 5p1/2ns1/2 and 5p3/2ns1/2 channels. A six-channel multichannel-quantum-defect-theory analysis of the data has been performed, and good agreement between the experiment and the theory has been obtained.
