Seniority Selection Rules of Magnetic Dipole Transitions and Allowed Beta Decay in 1f72 Nuclei

Abstract

Matrix elements of one-body rank-one tensor operators exhibit seniority selection rules between states of a nuclear jn configuration. These are given and their influence on β decays and M1 transitions in the nuclear 1f72 shell is discussed.
