Abstract

Extensive sets of yrast and nonyrast states in Ru99 have been populated by the reaction Mo98(He3, 2nγ)Ru99. The population of nonyrast states is attributable to the characteristics of the reaction rather than the specifics of the nuclear structure involved. Several complete particle-core multiplets have been successfully interpreted with a particle-rotor model.
