Abstract

The decay modes of 10 Ca49 states have been investigated utilizing the reaction Ca48(d,pγ)Ca*49. On the basis of the resulting decay scheme and some previously measured ln values, Jπ assignments of (52), (32,12) are made to the 3.586- and 4.272-MeV levels, respectively. A new level at 4.885 MeV is assigned J=(92,72). The Ca49 level structure is discussed in terms of particle-core coupling models.
