Abstract
Angular distributions are reported for the excitation of states in and and the first excited state in at a energy of 34 MeV. Both distorted-wave Born approximation and coupled channels calculations are reported for these reactions. The projectile excitation is reasonably well described with a collective rotational model for . For the excitation of states in , strong-coupling rotational, weak-coupling particle-rotation, and microscopic models are used. Weak-coupling particle-rotation and microscopic models are used for excitation of states in . In general, for the target excitation there is good agreement between the various calculations and the experimental data.
