Abstract

The level structure of Tc97 up to 2700 keV excitation has been studied via measurements of gamma ray yields and via nγ and γγ coincidence experiments following the Mo97(p, nγ) reaction with proton energies between 2.0 and 5.2 MeV. From these experiments a decay scheme of Tc97 which includes 78 levels has been obtained. Angular distribution measurements of gamma rays deexciting and exciting these levels provided reliable multipole mixing ratios and Jπ assignments for several transitions and states.

NUCLEAR REACTIONS Mo97(p, nγ)Tc97, E=2.05.2 MeV; measured Eγ, nγ, γγ coincidences, γ-ray angular distributions; Tc97 deduced levels, Jπ; enriched targets, Ge(Li) detectors.
