Abstract

The g factors of the 21+ levels of Zr92 and Zr94 have been measured using the dynamic magnetic field which acts on fast ions traversing a thin magnetized iron foil. The results obtained are g(Zr92, 21+)=0.03±0.05 and g(Zr94, 21+)=0.26±0.06. The present results indicate sizable admixture of components other than d52 neutrons in the wave functions of these levels.

NUCLEAR REACTIONS Zr92,94(Cl35, Cl35′)Zr92,94*(21+) E=90 MeV, enriched targets; measured W(θ, H, ); fast ions in thin polarized iron. Deduced magnetic moments of the 21+ levels in Zr92,94.
