3 octupole states in the even Cd nuclei

Abstract

Gamma-ray angular distributions from the decay of states at 1959 keV excitation in Cd114 and 1923 keV and 1930 keV excitation in Cd116 are shown to be consistent with assignments of 3 for these levels.

NUCLEAR REACTIONS Cd114,116(n, nγ), E2.67 MeV; measured σ(Eγ, θγ); Cd114,116 deduced J, π, δ. Enriched targets. Ge(Li) detectors.
