Abstract

The neutron-rich nuclides Tc109 and Tc110, produced by thermal-neutron-induced fission of Cf249, have been identified using a fast automated chemical procedure for the separation of technetium from the fission product mixture. Half-lives of 1.4±0.4 and 1.0±0.2 sec for Tc109 and Tc110, respectively, have been deduced from γ-ray spectra of the technetium fraction.

RADIOACTIVITY Tc109, Tc110, measured T12. Fission Cf249 (nth,f); automated chemical separation procedure, Ge(Li) detector.
