Phys. Rev. A 67, 062319 (2003) [4 pages]Entanglement-based quantum key distribution without an entangled-photon source
K. Inoue1, C. Santori2, E. Waks2, and Y. Yamamoto1,2 Received 16 July 2002; published 30 June 2003 A quantum key distribution scheme is described, in which a time (or phase) entangled-photon pair posteriorly generated by a single-photon source and a simple beam splitter. This scheme offers an efficient entanglement-based quantum key distribution system superior to the system using a standard parametric down-converter. ©2003 The American Physical Society
