Abstract
It is shown that the only pure states of spin 1 having magnetic moments in agreement with the measured upper limit for are and . The former is inconsistent with the results of an analysis of the spectrum of with a linear combination of scalar and tensor interactions, while the latter is consistent. It follows from the acceptance of the correctness of the latter that the relative sign of the scalar and tensor coupling constants is positive.
