CLINICAL PRESENTATION

A 81-year-old man with asbestos pleural plaques presented with left-sided chest pain. A chest radiograph (Figure 1) showed irregular left-sided pleural thickening highly suspicious of mesothelioma. Furthermore, computerized tomography scan of his chest showed changes of malignant pleural thickening in the left lung and subsequent thoracoscopic biopsy confirmed the diagnosis.
