Spotted wilt, caused by Tomato spotted wilt virus (genus Tospovirus; family Bunyaviridae) is a major disease of peanut (Arachis hypogaea L.) in the southeastern U.S. New cultivars with excellent spotted wilt resistance have been developed, and studies were conducted in Marianna, FL to evaluate their response to seeding density and twin-row vs. single-row planting patterns.
