Abstract

We designed an intra-cavity mode shaping system to get a desired intensity profile at a given distance from the exit window of a laser resonator. The diffractive optical element (DOE) in the resonator forms a real-valued output mode and another DOE adds the required phase shifts to the output mode. The simulations show the formation of a flat-top and doughnut-like shape at the given distance outside the resonator.
