Abstract

Contracted expressions for the four-particle shell-model matrix elements between identical particles (protons, neutrons and bosons) are derived and applied to the nucleus 136Xe. A comparison with experiment and with other shell-model calculations is performed, concentrating especially on effects due to configuration space truncation.
