Abstract

A locally rotationally symmetric (LRS) Bianchi type-I string cosmological model with bulk viscosity is investigated. To obtain a determinate solution, it is assumed that the coefficient of bulk viscosity is a power function of the energy density ζ = ζ0ρm and the scalar of expansion is proportional to the shear scalar θ∝σ, which leads to a relation between metric potentials R = ASn, where R and S are only the functions of time. The physical and geometrical aspects of the model are also discussed. The solution includes some results previously given in the literature as special cases.
