Abstract
It has been reported that the Peltier heat pumping rate of a thermoelectric converter can be increased by additional heat exchange at a Fermi gas/Fermi liquid (FG/FL) interface. This additional heat is associated with electron phase transitions between the Fermi gas and Fermi liquid. A practical configuration of a novel thermoelectric converter based on FG/FL interfaces is proposed and the possibility of improving the efficiency of a thermoelectric converter which employs this radically new approach is discussed.
