Applying outdoor recreation management.

Abstract

This chapter organizes the information presented in the previous chapters into a series of matrices that can be used to guide a systematic and creative programme of outdoor recreation management. A management matrix is presented for each of the following four management strategies: (1) limiting use; (2) increasing the supply of recreation opportunities; (3) reducing the impact of use; and (4) hardening the resource/experience. Also presented is an application of the matrices to the 25 case studies in this book.
