To the Editor:

Paronychia may be acute or chronic and is most typically infectious in nature; acute infections are often caused by Staphylococcus aureus, and chronic infections are caused by Candida organisms. There have been an increasing number of reports of paronychia presenting as granulation tissue caused by a variety of medications including chemotherapeutic agents,1 retinoids,2 protease inhibitors,3 antiviral agents,4 and antibiotics.5 We present a case of periungual granulation type of paronychia
