Significance

A polystyrene-supported palladium complex facilitated the cross-coupling of aryl halides 1 with triarylbismuths 2 in the presence of KF to give the corresponding biaryls 3 in 43-96% yield (31 examples). In the cross-coupling of iodobenzene with triphenylbismuth, the catalyst was recovered by simple filtration and reused ten times without significant loss of the catalytic activity (1st reuse: 93% yield, 10th reuse: 90% yield).
