Answer to: Image 3 (page 906): Disseminated Bacillus Calmette-Guérin Disease

Although culture and polymerase chain reactions for acid-fast bacterium were negative, the possibility of disseminated BCG infection could not be denied. He was treated with oral isoniazid (300 mg/d), rifampicin (600 mg/d), and ethambutol (875 mg/d). Six days after treatment, the liver function tests results did not improve sufficiently.
